SubNet

A (usually small) network with one or more "sticky" connections. This may be viewed as a type of reusable component, or a stage in development of a complex network using StepwiseRefinement?. In DrawFBP, such a SubNet is indicated by a Composite? block in the diagram - when double-clicked on, it is "blown up" to show the expanded subnet.

The line with the red dots represents a feature common to all versions of FlowBasedProgramming, which prevents one process from starting until another process has terminated. This relationship is specified in the network definition, and does not require any modification of the processes involved.
